Francis “Frank” Messa , 89 Francis “Frank” Messa was born to eternal life on Friday August 1, 2014. A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Borgia Church north in Cedarburg on Saturday August 9 at 1 p.m. Christian burial at St. Francis Cemetery will follow the Mass. Visitation will be at church on Saturday from 11:00am to 12:45pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Multiply the Harvest, www.multiplytheharvest.org, or 3963 Gershwin Ave. North, Oakdale, MN 55128 are appreciated. Please visit www.muellerfuneralhome.com to provide condolences and photos in memory of Frank online. Frank was born in Chicago on August 22, 1924. He attended St. Turibius Catholic grade school and graduated from Mt. Carmel High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1948. He later attended Marquette University and graduated with a degree in physics. Afterwards he was employed at American Can Co. in Milwaukee and then enjoyed a long career at Milprint for 45 years. Frank and Matilda (Tee) first met in Chicago. After a wonderful courtship, they married in 1951. Over 62 years of marriage, they were blessed with 13 children, 30 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Frank was a devoted husband and father. While his job required frequent travel, he always found time for family, friends and parish community. He put love into all he did—weekend cooking, helping with planting the gardens, household projects and enjoying time with his children. He also was a committed steward of his parish—serving on parish council, helping with remodeling projects, Eucharistic Minister and lector. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Frank was a wonderful role model at home and in his community always helping with kindness and generosity. Frank will be missed by all. Frank is survived by his loving children, Miki (Mike) Stanton, Patti (Walt) Koss, Monica, Mark (Rose), Matt (Suzanne), Hilary (Julie), Andy (Denise), Cece (Roy) Burns, Fran(John) Triebe, Kate (Dave) Jisa, Maggie (Rick) Pennings, Martin (Lisa), Tim (Jeannie) Messa. He is also survived by grandchildren, Matt, Brianna (Ted) Schmidt, Alex Stanton; Nick (Devan), Ben (Kelly), Zach (Liz) and McKenzie Koss; Adam Messa; Gabriel and Ian Messa; Amber (Jose) Orozco, Colton, Katelyn, Taylor and Alyse Messa; Keely and Kara Burns, Erin(Daniel) Emerick, Coleen and Andrew Triebe; Tess and Killian Jisa; Cassie Pennings; Ryan, Megan and Paige Messa; Enzo, Nina and Luca Messa: and by great-grandchildren, Athea and Mabel Koss, Vivian Schmidt and Ianto Emerick. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Tee. He is also preceded by his parents Louis and Barbara (Nee Kalacic) Messa, siblings Bess (Ed) Sima; Ann (Ed)Wehrman; Helen (Tony) Zawacki; Mildred(Walter) Plucinski; Tom (Lorraine), Frances and Joseph Messa and grandson Andrew Messa. Frank lived by the motto “Do your best at whatever you do” He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
