Floyd E. Lyneis of Grafton, formerly of Cedarburg passed away peacefully at Horizon Hospice in Mequon, on March 3, 2014 at the age of 85. Floyd was born in Milwaukee, WI on January 15, 1929 the son of the late Floyd J. and Cora L. (nee Kirchhahn) Lyneis. Floyd graduated from Rufus King High School in 1947. Floyd was united in marriage on June 18, 1949 to Mary (Nee Holevas). Floyd was a former submariner with the Naval Reserves. Floyd worked as an electrician and the electrical industry his whole life. Floyd owned/operated Lyneis Electric and was also an electrical inspector for many years. Floyd was a member of the Ozaukee County Fair Board for many years and was involved with many in the Ozaukee County 4-H programs and also the Ozaukee County Agricultural Society. In his early years Floyd was a Boy Scout Leader and Scout Master. He enjoyed the Green Bay Packers, deer hunting with his boys in Crivitz, WI, traveling to Door County for summer vacations, fishing, and golfing, but most importantly spending time with his grandchildren. Floyd is survived by his wife Mary; children: Amy (Mark) Matter, Mark (Monika) Lyneis, David Lyneis, Andrew (Christine) Lyneis and Christopher (Nancy) Lyneis; Grandchildren: Nicholas (Kendra) Matter, Nathan Matter; Thomas, Megan & Jack Lyneis; Emily & Jed Lyneis; Amanda, Andrew “Buck” Jr. and Kelsey Lyneis; Haley & Bradley Karrels; Nicole (Bill) Wellenstein and Brandon Wellenstein; Great Grandchildren: Colson Matter and Summer Samens; other relatives and many friends. Floyd was preceded in death by granddaughter Erika Lyneis and great grandson Braydon Matter. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Borgia North Catholic Church in Cedarburg on Monday, March 10, 2014 – 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held at Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg on Sunday, March 9th from 3:00PM – 5:000 PM. A light reception will be held at the church following mass on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Stop CMV or the National Down Syndrome Society appreciated.
