A funeral service will be held on Tuesday August 10, 2010 at 2:00 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Grafton, for Florence M. Fank, 91, of Grafton who died on August 5, 2010. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 1:00PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. Paul Lutheran LWML appreciated. Florence was born in Milwaukee on March 17, 1919, to Walter and Edna (nee Beckmann) Schmidt. Florence served her country as a nurse in the Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1946. Afterwards, she was a delivery room nurse at Lutheran Hospital. Florence married August Fank in 1947. She gave up nursing to become a stay at home mother until her youngest daughter was old enough to attend school. Along the way, they moved to Grafton in 1952 where August became the owner of Grafton Printer. Church was also an important part of Florences life, and she was a member of the Lutheran Womens Missionary League and Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Ozaukee County Extension Homemakers Club. Florence was an avid reader. Florence is survived by her daughters Christine (David) Roberts and Edna (Mark) Hayman; daughter-in-law Mickey Fank; grandchildren Melissa (J.J.), Beth (Keith), Michelle (Brad), Megan (Matt), Patti (Curt); Mike and Billy; great-grandchildren Abby, Charlotte, Liam and Gabe; sister Marion (the late Robert) Macejkovic; other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, August, and her son, Robert. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Paul Lutheran LWML appreciated.
