Evelyn Ella Guhl Evelyn Ella Guhl passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2020 at Cedar Community, in West Bend, at the age of 88 years. Evelyn was born in Jackson, on April 30, 1931, the daughter of the late Frank and the late Minna (nee Kannenberg) Matter. Evelyn was a longtime member at David’s Star Ev. Lutheran Church, where she was baptized and confirmed. She was later united in marriage to Vernon Guhl on June 11, 1949, at David’s Star Ev. Lutheran Church. Together their marriage was blessed with six children. Evelyn loved to garden, knit, crochet, play sheepshead with their card clubs, and enjoyed playing games with all of her grandchildren. Evelyn is survived by her children: Elaine (Daniel) Schubert of Jackson, Dennis (Kathy) Guhl of West Bend, Walter (Carol) Guhl of Cedarburg, Roger (Jory) Guhl of Cedarburg, Alan (Karen) Guhl of Cedarburg, and Shelley (Rev. Tom) Zimdars of Avondale, Arizona. She is further survived by 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon Guhl, sister, Beatrice Bublitz, and brothers: Elroy, Roman, Merl, Earl, and Jerome Matter. The Guhl family would like to thank Cedar Community for taking such wonderful care of her over the last 6 ½ years. A private graveside committal will be held at David’s Star Ev. Lutheran Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Vernon Guhl. Memorials in memory of Evelyn Guhl can be made to either David's Star Ev. Lutheran Church or Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School. Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory Cedarburg assisted the family with arrangements.
