Evelyn E. Biebl

Biebl, Evelyn E. Evelyn Biebl of Cedarburg passed away at Lasata Care Center on August 16, 2014, at age 97. Born in Milwaukee WI to Frank and Julia (nee Dugan) Brixius, she attended St. Peter and Paul elementary school and parish on the east side. She was graduated from Riverside High School in 1935 and went on to do office work at Allis-Chalmers. She loved music and dancing, which is how she met the love of her life, Joseph Biebl, at Silver Spring Ballroom. In the early years of their marriage they frequented lakes and resorts in Wisconsin which developed their lifelong love of the outdoors. Their life was blessed with five children, and once all were in school, Evelyn worked for many years at First Wisconsin Bank and also at Jane Lee clothing. The family closeness was legendary, and a lake home in retirement became a retreat for the growing family—16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Time spent with them up north created indelible memories—swimming, hunting, fishing, festivals, card games, puzzles, and songs around her player piano. Evelyn loved to be surrounded by her family. Her passion for gardening, with the overflowing feasts at her table, has passed on to her children and grandchildren. Her gentle good-nature and easy laugh made her a joy to be around and her faith was an inspiration to all. We were fortunate to have had so much time with her to make wonderful memories. She will be dearly missed. Evelyn is survived by her loving children Joseph (Patricia) Biebl of Viroqua, Darlene Biebl of Menomonee Falls, Richard (Deborah) Biebl of Winter, Doris (Joseph) Makowski of Cedarburg; grandchildren Colleen (Doug) Olson of Pleasanton CA, Jeanne (Dave) Renick of West Bend, Russell (Tara) Biebl of Arpin, Roger Biebl of Onalaska, Susan (Mike) Weyh of Baraboo, Sandra (Mike) Kuzulka of Waupun; Linda (Steve) Eggebrecht of Gillette, Holly (Jim) Hall of Flower Mound, TX, Kevin Settele of West Bend, Brian Settele of Menomonee Falls, Lorie (Dave) Marks of Menomonee Falls; Debra (Dave) DaRosa of Ripon, CA; Cherice (Dirk) Uhlig of Cedarburg, Jeff (April) Dietz of Grafton, John (Jenny) Dietz of Milwaukee, Jim Dietz of Milwaukee; plus 24 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Also survived by sisters-in-law Rosemary Brixius, Louise Poppendieck, and Verna Brown; dear nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, son John, granddaughter Lisa, and brothers Clarence and Eugene. Private services held. Memorials may be to Lasata Care Center. Thank you to Lasata and Heartland with deep appreciation for all your care, help and support. In Evelyn’s own words, “God is still with me.”
