Erna E. Sommer

Erna E. Sommer of Mequon, was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, August 28, 2010, at the age of 81 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter G. Sommer. Dearest mother of Walter B. (Debra) Sommer, Wendy (Daniel) Eastman, Donald (Joan) Sommer, Debra (Timothy) Lamers, and Kristine (James) Anderson. Loving and proud grandma of Emily, Grant (Laura), and Philip Sommer; Sarah, Benjamin, and Jonathan Eastman; Elizabeth and Melissa Sommer; Matthew, Andrew, Michael, Tommy, and Jessica Lamers; and Natalie and Scott Anderson. Erna was born on February 23, 1929, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, to the late George and Anna (nee Seybold) Schuessel. She married Walter G. Sommer on June 11, 1955, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, in Milwaukee. Their marriage was blessed with 5 children. In addition to being a loving and devoted mother, Erna played an instrumental role in operating the family business, Sommers Automotive. She was also a longtime member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church West Mequon, Mequon Womens Club, T-M Postscripts and Northshore Country Club. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2010, from 9AM 12 Noon at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church West Mequon (11450 N. Wauwatosa Road) followed by a Christian Funeral Service at 12 Noon. The Rev. Kenneth Kolberg will officiate the Funeral Service.
