A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 12 Noon at St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Grafton, for Elmer Ladwig who passed away at the Lasata Care Center on February 8, 2010, at the age of 90 years. A visitation will take place prior to the funeral service, at the church, from 10AM 12 Noon. Interment Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg. Elmer was born on January 20, 1920, in Cherokee, Iowa, son of the late Otto Ladwig and the late Hilda (nee Barelmann) Ladwig. Elmer later married Margaret (nee Port) Ladwig at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton, on August 28, 1943. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Richard and Randall. Elmer drove a milk truck for ten years for Dairy Distributions in Milwaukee, and then worked for Doerr Electric for over 31 years as a heat treater. Elmer enjoyed traveling and he truly enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to walk, golf, and work outdoors. Elmer is survived by his wife, Margaret Ladwig, sons, Richard (Betsy) Ladwig and Randall (Jane) Ladwig, grandchildren: Adam Ladwig, Ryan Ladwig, Alyssa (Patrick) Blum, Candace Ladwig, and Hillary Ladwig, sister, Joyce Kison, sister-in-law, Christine Wittenberg, and brother-in-law, Robert Zirtzlaff. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Wilmer Ladwig and John W. Wittenberg.
