Eleanor Rohl, of Grafton was called to life eternal through her faith in Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the age of 93 years five months. Eleanor was born in the Town of Cedarburg in Ozaukee County on August 25, 1916 to the late Joseph and Margaret (nee Waldkirch) Rohl. Eleanor was baptized into the Catholic faith at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg, WI. She also received her First Communion and her Confirmation at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville until June 2009 when she became a member of St. Francis Borgia Church in Cedarburg. Eleanor enjoyed needlework until later years when her vision became a problem. She made many baby caps for newborns at the hospital. In previous years, Ella also volunteered at St. Marys Hospital Ozaukee in the gift shop and earned a 1500 hours pin for her volunteer services there. During her working years, Ella was employed at Tecumseh Products Grafton. She also worked for Glanders Ornamental Iron Works in Saukville. She was actively employed until her health conditions curtailed her ability to work. Ella was a member of the Concerned Hearts Club after her first of three heart surgeries. Ella resided at Berkshire apartment in Grafton where she met wonderful, kind friends. Playing bingo, attending exercise classes and of course, Thursday breakfasts were some of the special events she enjoyed until her health limited her participation in these activities. What thoughtful, caring friends she had at Berkshire. She often said, Berkshire is really her extended family. Ellas favorite vacation spot was at Lake Helen in Rosholt, Wisconsin. She looked forward to traveling to the cottage each summer as her health permitted. She enjoyed being with the Mayer family of Fredonia when she was able to travel to the cottage. Vacationing at Lake Helen was a highlight of her summer. In her younger years, Ella enjoyed bus trips, plane trips and other travel experiences. She and her sister Marie traveled to Hawaii and to Las Vegas Nevada on tow especially memorable vacation trips. She also was a member of a bowling league in Grafton. Ella was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Thielen. She is survived by her nephew John Thielen, nieces-in-law Beverly Thielen and many other relatives and friends.
