Kleist, Edward W. of Grafton, went to his heavenly home May 16, 2010, age 96 years. Beloved husband of the late Helen (nee Ahlers). Loving father of Kathleen (Harold) Oppermann and Lorna (Donald) Pitzer. Loving grandfather of Dawn (Kurt) Zirtzlaff, Wendy (Rodny) Otto, Douglas (Rebecca) Oppermann, Cami (Michael) Whitt, and Angela Pitzer. Loving great-grandfather of Justin (Angelina) Zirtzlaff and Danielle (Curt) Hafemeister; Trenton, Anthony and Courtney Otto; and Emma, Evan, and Eric Oppermann. Loving great-great grandfather of Joshua and Hailey Hafemeister. Brother of Jake (Marion) Kleist. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Louise (nee Bartsch) Kleist, brother, Fred (Wilma) Kleist, and 2 sisters, Laura (Grant) Hill and Caroline (Sigfred) Simonsen. Funeral Service Friday, May 21, 2010, 4PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church (701 Washington St.), Grafton. Interment church cemetery. In state Friday, at the church, 2PM until time of service.
