Edmund R. “Bud” Baehmann, of Cedarburg, WI passed away peacefully on Sept. 6, 2019 at the age of 81. He was the son of the late Edmund W. and Ruth C. Baehmann, and is survived by his children Keith (Marjorie), Linda and Kurt (Elizabeth), brother Dale (Susan) and former wife Nancy, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bud was a civil engineer and worked as a Highway Inspector for the WI Department of Transportation for over 30 years. He enjoyed working outside and had a lifelong love of construction. He was proud of his work in helping to build infrastructure projects like the Marquette Interchange. In addition to his work with the state he will be most remembered for his Cedarburg business, Baehmann’s Golf Center, a Driving Range, Par 3 golf course and Mini Golf. Bud grew up on a farm, and after his parents purchased 57 acres on the edge of Cedarburg in 1949 he discovered a passion for golf while hitting balls at the former Legler’s driving range in Milwaukee. With excess farmland he decided to start a driving range in 1960 at the age of 22 with his family. Bud would spend the next 59 years working day and night to provide a place for people to spend time with their families and friends. He particularly enjoyed seeing young children play mini golf with their parents, and made a concerted effort to support junior golf. Bud loved interacting with his regular customers, and went out of his way to make sure they found the golf clubs that suited them best, creating lifelong customers and friendships along the way. He always enjoyed a good game of sheepshead, and was an avid league bowler for many years at the Cedars. The church played a central role in his life, volunteering as an usher and offering counter at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept 13, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 701 Washington St, Grafton. Interment at Wisconsin Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 4:00pm-5:15pm, with a light dinner following the service at 5:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Portal, inc.
