Douglas R. Throndson
Douglas “Doug” Throndson passed away unexpectedly on October 19th, 2023, in Cedarburg, WI. He was only 53 years old. Doug left a tremendous hole in our hearts and lives when God called him to Heaven, but apparently Heaven needed someone that cared, laughed and did more for people than any one person can.
Doug was born on September 4th, 1970, in Bloomington, MN to Beverly and Dale Throndson. He graduated from Kennedy Sr. High School and went on to play football at the University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire where he graduated with a degree in finance and economics. While at Eau Claire, Doug met and married the love of his life and soulmate Jennifer (Pitts) Throndson. They had three amazing kids together: Halle (20-at University of Wisconsin Eau Claire), Ava (18-at University of Wisconsin LaCrosse) and Rhys (13- 8th grade).
Doug had such a passion for life, and was fiercely loyal to his entire family. He loved spending time with them: planning trips, fishing, boating, sailing, golfing, and watching and coaching his kids in sports and activities. In general, everything was more fun when Doug was around.
Doug was employed as a CFO at the Reesman Company in Burlington, WI since 2018. He was very passionate about his job, and loved working with his team who not only became his friends, but became his work family.
Doug is survived by his wife Jen and 3 children: Halle, Ava and Rhys. He is also survived by his father, Dale Throndson (Grafton, WI) and brother Dave (Colleen) Throndson with Ronan, Shari and Autumn (Melbourne, FL) and his sister Carol (Todd) Koehnke with Michaela and Samantha (Fairfield, CT). He is preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Throndson.
He will be remembered for the smiles and laughs he brought to everything he did. He had a special way of positively connecting with everyone he met. Those who had the honor of knowing Doug, please consider it a blessing. We all look forward to seeing Doug in Heaven some day!
A service will be held at Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Mequon, WI (6031 W Chapel Hill Rd.) on November 18th at 11:00 am. All monetary gifts collected will be used for the Throndson kids’ college tuition and expenses.
