Dorothy Z. Wisniewski, of Grafton, WI, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017, at the age of 92 years. Dorothy was born in Lincoln, Illinois, to Fred and Mabel (nee Cook) Zelle, on August 1, 1924. She was united in marriage to Chester Achison Jr. After Chester’s death, she was united in marriage to Walter Wisniewski, on April 15, 1961, in Milwaukee. Dorothy was a member of Community United Methodist Church, in Cedarburg, WI. Dorothy enjoyed camping with Wally and their many Elder Hostel experiences traveling to different states. Her many hobbies included painting, crafting, playing solitaire, completing crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy and the Wheel of Fortune. She grew to love Bingo and was so proud when she won. She looked forward to breakfast every Saturday morning at Hobo’s, in Belgium, WI, and The Prime Minister, in Thiensville, WI, after church on Sundays. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and hearing the latest about what was going on in their lives. Dorothy may have been short on words, but you always felt her love. You knew she became a true Wisconsinite as brats were one of her favorite meals, even for the holidays. I guess brats are not served in Illinois. Dorothy is survived by her family – Donna Hoffmann, of Sheboygan, WI, JoAnne Hadler, of Cedarburg, WI, Eilene Wisniewski, of Maplewood, MN; her loving grandchildren: Kim (Chris) Chronister of Alachua, FL, Brad (Debbie) Hoffmann, of Cleveland, WI, Mike (Stacey) Hadler, of Wayzala, MN, and Carrie (Jeff) Engebose, of Byron, MN; and great-grandchildren: Katie Chronister, Jackie Chronister, Kelsey Engebose, Madison Engebose, and Brady Engebose. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter and Chester, her sister, Elsie Pitcher, and brothers, Edgar, Robert, John, and Gordon Zelle. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017, 3PM at Community United Methodist Church, in Cedarburg, WI. The visitation will take place on Saturday, at the church, from 1PM until the time of service. Rev. David Blackmer will officiate the funeral services. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery, in Milwaukee, WI. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Dorothy’s name. Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory, of Cedarburg, WI, is assisting the family. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Sheboygan Senior Community for the loving care and compassion they showed and gave Dorothy and her family. She truly considered it “her home”.
