Dorothy P. Johannes

Dorothy Pauline Johannes was born October 14, 1919 to the late August and Rosa (Radloff) Holtz. She was baptized and confirmed at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Milwaukee, and graduated, as valedictorian, from Riverside High School, Milwaukee. On March 31, 1941 she was united in marriage to the late Roy Vernon Berggren. On January 31, 1953 she was united in marriage to Daniel Walter Johannes. During her adult life, Dorothy divided her time between caring for her family, working as executive secretary for Globe Union (Johnson Controls) Corporation, and volunteering for her Lord and his Church. She loved visiting with her family and many friends. Dorothy and Dan lived most of their life in Milwaukee and Jackson, Wisconsin, and, in their later years, near their daughter in Sheboygan. Dorothy was called to heaven on Monday, April 20, 2009, at the age of 89. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Daniel Johannes of Sheboygan; daughter Judith Wright of Sheboygan; son Robert (Lisa) Johannes of Mishicot; grandchildren Pearl Johannes of DePere and August Johannes of Mishicot; two brothers-law, two sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Berggren; her three brothers, George, Richard, and Walter Holtz, and by her sister, Gertrude Berggren. Funeral service Friday April 24, 1 PM at Davids Star Ev. Lutheran Church 2470 Davids Star Drive Jackson (Kirchhayn). Interment Valhalla Memorial Park Milwaukee. Instate at the church Friday 11 AM until time of service.
