Dorothy H. Waddell (nee Abbott), of Grafton, passed away peacefully at the Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg, WI on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the age of 93.
Dorothy was born September 14, 1930, in Hartford, WI., the daughter of Douglas Abbott and Helen Prissman. After graduating from Hartford High School in 1948, she was employed as an Executive Assistant at the West Bend Company where she met her late, loving husband of 58 years, Thomas Waddell.
Dorothy and Tom raised four children in Glendale, WI. She was a long-term employee of the Jewel Food Store at the Bay Shore Mall where she held positions as a Checker and Assistant Manager.
Dorothy was a devout Christian (Catholic) who loved her family dearly. She carried a continuous positive attitude throughout her life and always had a smile for all.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, board games, reading books and attending plays along with her children’s / grandchildren’s school and sporting events.
She was a wonderful Wife, Mother and Grandmother who will be dearly missed by all. Dorothy is survived by her sons; Steven, Timothy, Scott and Daughter Susan (Anthony) Marx. She is further survived by her grandchildren; Amanda (Austin) Kadulski, Aimee and Angela Marx, Ross, Ryan and Jolie Waddell, brother Douglas Abbott Jr., sister Dianne Abbott along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024, at St. Joseph Parish, 1619 Washington St., Grafton, WI 53024. Visitation will take place at St. Joseph 9:30 -10:45 am followed by a Christian Burial Service.
Private interment to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hartford, WI. Memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church appreciated. Online condolences can be forwarded to the family at www.muellerfuneralhome.com
