Donald John Larson

Donald entered heaven on October 28, 2024, joining other loved ones already in heaven who welcomed his arrival. There will be a memorial service held for Donald on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory (W63 N527 Hanover Avenue Cedarburg, WI 53012). Donald will be buried at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg.

Donald was born to Andrew and Mary Larson (nee Koepsel) on June 5, 1929, the youngest son of five siblings, Bernice, Andrew Jr., Robert and Mary, all who predeceased Don. The family were reared in Mequon where they raised chickens and ducks. Sunday dinners of fried chicken was standard and fresh. After high school, Donald enlisted in the US Army, serving in Germany post-WWII. Don’s career was spent at Mercury Marine, first in Cedarburg and then in Fond du Lac, where he and a group of other coworkers would commute from Grafton each workday. Don met Anita, while she was working as a secretary, and they married in 1967 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Grafton. They shared a home with sprawling grounds in Grafton and hosted many family events.

Don is survived by his wife, Anita (nee Gisler), sister-in-law, Viola Prinsen, along with numerous family and friends. Remembrances, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Friends of Clearview, 198 CTH-DF, Juneau, WI 53039, for community activities.
