Deborah “Debbie” Lynn Rogahn age 73, passed away peacefully after a long and challenging time with dementia on June 1, 2022 at StoryPoint Memory Care in Mequon, Wisconsin. With family at her side, she passed peacefully to her final resting place in heaven. Debbie was born on December 3, 1948 in Grafton, WI the daughter of the late Jerome and Phyllis Bohn (nee Tess). Debbie was united in marriage to Gary Rogahn in Grafton, WI on October 2, 1971. Debbie is survived by her son Trent (Jodi) Rogahn and her daughter Tristin (Jeff) Jezuit. Dear Grandmother to Hayden, Gavin and Emerson Rogahn and Josephine and Jace Jezuit. Debbie is also survived by her sister Sheila (Jack) Nelson, by many cherished friends, cousins, nieces and nephews. Along with many caregivers who brought her joy and love. Debbie provided a loving home environment for her family and best little companion Kiki. She was a special wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. She loved vacationing where she could enjoy the warmth of the sun and sand on her feet. She loved taking care of her children and later her grandchildren along with maintaining her many beautiful gardens. Debbie completed her high school education at Grafton High school. She was one of many friends that found fun and joy throughout the four years. They remained friends over the years. After graduation from high school Debbie entered the Columbia School of Nursing with a concentration in Pediatrics. Debbie graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1970 and then worked for many years first at the old Children's Hospital located at 17th and Wisconsin and then in the new Children’s Hospital on the Milwaukee county grounds. After leaving the hospital environment she joined Horizon Homecare where she provided compassionate in-home care to patients ranging from the very young to the elderly. In the prime of her life, Debbie was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a five year battle with the disease she was determined to be cancer free and has remained so until this day. All of the family along with many of her friends, had a big celebration with the news of the five year free event. There were very many special people during Debbie’s nursing and caregiver career: Bea, Michael, Henry, Daniel and so many more. There was one very special patient that was a big part of her life. A child born prematurely at the old Children's Hospital with an immunity issue. Debbie was assigned to watch over the young child in the NICU for many weeks. Debbie would meet the young child again years later when she provided in-home care for him again and was blessed to experience the joy of attending his graduation from high school. After ending her nursing career Debbie moved on as a caregiver and companion to elderly persons during their final days on earth. She would spend hours reading books and sharing past memories to comfort them. Debbie was the sweetest most loving gift to all who knew her and we will miss her dearly. Visitation will be held at Immanual Lutheran Church in Cedarburg on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 11:00 to 12:45 pm. A Memorial Service will follow at 1 pm. Following the Memorial Service, a private committal service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Grafton.
