Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, May 13, 2013 at St. Francis Borgia North Catholic Church, 1375 Covered Bridge Road, Cedarburg at 11:30am for David L. Mottard who died unexpectedly on May 8, 2013 from natural causes at the age of 68 years at Columbia St. Mary’s Ozaukee Campus. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Menasha, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held at church on Monday from 10:00am until the time of Mass. David was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 18, 1944, the son of the late Leonard and Helen (nee Voissem) Mottard. David graduated from UW-Oshkosh in 1967 with a Bachelors Degree in History. David was united in marriage on October 29, 1966 to Shirley Vissers at St. John’s The Baptist Catholic Church in Menasha. David was in the National Guard from 1966 to 1973. David and Shirley were blessed with one daughter, Jennifer. David was an usher at St. Francis Borgia South Catholic Church for many years. He was a volunteer at Family Sharing Food Pantry from 1991 until 2005. Dave was an avid sports fan and liked watching collegiate and NFL football. His favorite pass time was spending time with his family, especially with his two granddaughters. David is survived by his wife Shirley, daughter; Jennifer (Craig) Lau, granddaughters; Taylor and Camryn Lau, brother; Thomas (Pat) Mottard, Sisters-in-law; Janice (James) Schueppert and Jill (Clark) Caflisch, brother-in-law; Robert (Carol) Vissers, nieces; Susan (Brian) Fay, Krista (Daniel) Teigen, Kate Caflisch, nephews; Dr. Michael (Mary) Schueppert, Steven (Laurie) Schueppert, Patrick Caflisch. He is also survived by other great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Cemetery: Interment will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Menasha, Wisconsin In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in David’s name.
