David R. Hotchkiss, 68, of Cedarburg, found eternal peace on July 23, 2004. A Memorial service celebrating his life and faith will be held at 7 :00 PM, Wednesday, August 4 at Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Mequon. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 5 PM until the time of service. Mueller Funeral Home of Cedarburg is assisting the family. Though born in Illinois, Mr. Hotchkiss spent all of his life in the Milwaukee area, moving to Cedarburg in 1974. During the last few years he enjoyed spending his winters in Arizona. With degrees in business and engineering, he was Purchasing Manager at Phoenix Products Co. for 31 years until his retirement in 1998. He was active in many community organizations including the Milwaukee Association of Purchasing Managers, the Milwaukee Public Museum, and as a Life Member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. He was an active member of Crossroads Presbyterian Church. He also volunteered as a builder for Habitat for Humanity and served nine years on the Board of Directors of Riveredge Nature Center, Inc. Through the Friendship Force of Greater Milwaukee, he enjoyed traveling with his wife and hosting foreign visitors. With his quiet ways and quick wit, he brought joy to the lives of many. His interests included woodworking, traveling and extensive time spent at his computer. Survivors include: wife of 38 years, Beverly nee Scheer, dear “brother” friend J. Alan O’Connor, dear “niece” Anne Carroll Rob Hvizdak, dear “nephew” James Carroll, David Carroll, dear cousin Nancy William Maurina and their children, Tom Victoria Maurina, Michael Maurina, and Mary Kevin Scott and brother-in-law Gerald Scheer. He was further survived by other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his dear cousin, Dennis Susan Carroll. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Habitat for Humanity, Inc , Crossroads Presbyterian Church or The American Cancer Society are appreciated.
