Daniel J. Swoverland, 68, of Grafton, died peacefully at Lasata Care Center on January 6, 2019 after a long battle with MS. Dan was born on March 12, 1950 in Milwaukee, WI the son of Lillian Gengler and the late Claude Swoverland. Dan was a graduate of Grafton High School and was especially remembered as very popular and “cool” member of the class. He was an accomplished musician/drummer and enjoyed teaching the skill of drumming to many others. He was the owner of Goodfellows in Grafton and other establishments for many years. Dan played the drums in many bands including Misery Sons and The Julida Boys Polka Band. He also played tennis in the Grafton Recreational League. Daniel is survived by his mother Lillian; siblings: Colleen (Dick) Bartell, Claude (Cathy) Swoverland, Mike (Sandy) Swoverland; his son Danny; granddaughters: Scarlett and Cora; step-daughters: Jackie and Jenny; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and multiple friends. Dan found great faith and peace at Open Door Bible Church which he attended faithfully every Sunday throughout his later years. Special thanks from the family to Lasata Care Center for the kind, loving care given to Dan throughout the years. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 – 1:00 PM at Open Door Bible Church 3420 County Rd LL, Port Washington. Family will receive friends on Friday from 12 Noon until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Open Door Bible Church appreciated.
