Charles G. Sachse

Charles George Sachse January 3, 1933 - February 24, 2020 Charles George Sachse was born in Mequon, Wisconsin on January 3, 1933, and adopted into God's family through his baptism on January 29. The confirmation of his Christian faith in the Lutheran church took place on April 14, 1946, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was married to Audrey Gierach on May 8, 1954. That same year they moved to San Diego, California, where the Lord would bless them with a daughter, Sandy. Charles was employed for a time at a manufacturing plant in El Cajon prior to becoming a recognized employee of Rohr Industries until his retirement in 1995. In his spare time enjoyed camping in the desert and mountains in his motorhome. Charles was a long-time member of Shepherd of the Hills Ev. Lutheran Church, joining the congregation in the early 70's. He se1:"ed in various positions on the church council over the years. He also served on and oversaw the Board of Elders, assisting pastors with the spiritual care of the members. On February 24, 2020, Charles' soul was committed to heaven when he passed away at home surrounded by family. Charles was blessed to be married to Audrey for 65 years, a marriage based on love, respect, and forgiveness. In addition to being survived by his wife and daughter, he is also survived by two grandchildren, Kristi and Robbie Cunningham. Plans for a future memorial service and his committal in Wisconsin are being finalized. Memorial gifts may be given to support the ministry of our sister congregation, Alpine Lutheran Church, where during the final years of his life, Charles felt he could use his God-given gifts to support and encourage our brothers and sisters in Christ.
