Catherine J. Bienlein ('Katie') (Nee Meer)

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 15, 2008, at 5PM at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church North (1375 Covered Bridge Road), Cedarburg, for Catherine J. Bienlein (nee Meer), who died on Sept. 8, 2008, at the home of her daughter, Joann Lasch, in Shawano. She was 91 years old. Visitation will be held Mon. at the church from 3PM to 5PM. A private burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Grafton. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Shawano Hospice appreciated. Katie was born on February 27, 1917, in Janesville to the late Peter and Josephine (nee Schuerings) Meer. She married Milton Bienlein on May 28, 1938. Katie, a lifelong resident of the Cedarburg-Grafton area, was an employee of Doerr Electric. She had worked as a supervisor until her retirement in 1981. Katie was an avid card and bingo player. She crocheted enough afghans and dishcloths to keep her family supplied for years to come. Katie is survived by daughters Judy (Lou) Morales and Joann (Nap) Lasch; grandchildren Rob (Robin) Mourey, Susan (Bill) Lukas, Amy (David Kobs) Lasch, Kate Lasch and Megan Lasch; great-grandchildren Brenna Mourey, Jessa Mourey, Molly Favour and Sam Favour; and brother Franz (Lorraine) Meer. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and special friends. Katie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Milton, and 9 brothers and sisters.
