Carol Ann Schneider (nee Kluth)
Of Grafton, WI passed away peacefully at Sharon Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls, on March 6, 2025 at the age of 88. Carol was born in Clintonville, WI on October 20, 1936 to the late Glenn and Beatrice (nee Zuiches) Kluth.
Carol was most proud of her beautiful and successful family! Though people expected her to say that she was proud of building her company, SEEK Careers/Staffing as well as two other companies, she said, “My family is everything. My business allows me to help other people ‘realize their destinies.”
While at UW-Whitewater, Carol met Leon Schneider. After dating off and on for five years, they eventually married on February 4, 1961! Their 55-year marriage was blessed with Paul (Lisa), Joel (Jena) and Neil (Linda), 10 grandchildren and 14 greats! Her grandchildren are Nick, Clay (Jessica), Bianca (Matt) Dahm, Grant (Samantha), Asia (Jake) Lotter, Brittany (Jon) Wash, Ashley (Phillip) Ford, Hayley (Sam) Huthwaite and Brennen! Her great grandchildren are Xavier and Khloi (Dexter), Tanner, Remi and Landon (Brittany), Brentley, Everley, Wesley and Hadley (Clay) and Roman, Waylon, Otis (Bianca), Miller (Ashley) and Nora (Hayley). Leon, her grandson, Dexter, as well as her parents Glenn and Beatrice (Zuiches) Kluth preceded her to heaven! Her brother, Dale (June) Kluth and dozens of nieces and nephews and their families survive!
She graduated from UW-Whitewater and began her career as the only business teacher at Grafton High School. After she and Leon had children, she taught at Random Lake and Port Washington High Schools and completed her teaching career at Milwaukee Area Technical College’s Mequon Campus. While there, she was told that she did not have enough business experience to get her vocational teaching license. Always one to accept a challenge, Carol started SEEK, along with her neighbor. In 1980, she quit her job at MATC and took over the business. Always a goal setter, Carol attributes her success to setting goals, reaching them and then setting them again.
Carol was involved in and chaired many community service organizations and projects. Her philosophy was that we are blessed and should give back. She served as President of the Grafton Area Chamber of Commerce, led the fund raiser for the Grafton library and St Joseph Church, championed the Ozaukee County public transportation initiative and the Ozaukee Youth Apprenticeship program and founded FOCUS, a management women’s organization. She also served as the first woman president of the Independent Business Association of Wisconsin. She also led several other community organizations, among which were Tempo Waukesha and Tempo International. Carol considered herself a political junkie and personally lobbied state legislators and governors for human resources related issues. On a personal note, she loved to sing and did so in high school and college choirs as well as churches that she attended.
Funeral services will be held at Christ Church 13460 N. Port Washington Road in Mequon on Saturday, March 15, 2025 – 12:00 PM. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 AM - 11:45 AM. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
