Carol Marie King

Of Newburg, went to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the age of 80 years.

She was born in Newburg, WI to the late Oswald and the late Benadetta (nee Picciurro) Bretschneider. She graduated from Port Washington High School in 1962. On November 8, 1969 she married the love of her life, Wayne Robert King.

She retired from Tecumseh Power Products in Grafton in 2003 after spending 36 years working in their service department creating boxes for Tecumseh Engines.

Carol had a love for the outdoors. She loved traveling and camping, with Wayne and their friends. In her younger years, Carol was an avid baker, often making cakes for friends and family. More recently, she enjoyed trips to the casino, and playing bingo with her friends.

Carol’s faith was very important to her. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Newburg. She spent many years as a Sunday School Teacher, and member of the St. John’s Ladies Auxiliary.

Carol is survived by her special niece, Benadetta (Scott) Hess, special nephew, Allen Bretschneider, and brother-in-law, Robert Uhlig. She is further survived by her beloved fur babies, Mittens and Sophia, other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Robert King, and her siblings: Roger Bretschneider, Lee Bretschneider and Joy Uhlig.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 3:30 PM, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 623 Congress Dr., Newburg. Interment immediately following the service at the church cemetery. A luncheon will take place, at the church, immediately following the interment. A visitation will take place, on Wednesday, at the church from 1:30 PM to 3:15 PM.
