Bruce "Powerman" Peart

Bruce “Powerman” Peart peacefully passed away at Zilber Family Hospice on March 25, 2017 at the age of 57 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Bruce was born on December 13, 1959 in Washington DC to the late Drema (nee Holfield) and Weldon Peart. They moved to Hazel Crest, Illinois where the family grew to include his sister Donna. The four remained there until 1976, but later settled in Cedarburg. He attended Cedarburg High School and until recently was employed at Weil Pump. Bruce’s joyous personality was infectious, and he got no greater satisfaction than putting a smile on someone’s face. For those who knew him, his generosity will always be remembered. Christmas put Bruce in his element. He prepared perfectly wrapped gifts months in advance. Even in tough times, he was always looking for a reason to laugh. If the opportunity to pull a prank arose, Bruce would jump at the chance. No matter what Bruce did, he dedicated himself to it with enthusiasm. As a young man he stayed active through playing hockey, golf, and swimming. A win or loss was taken in stride. Also an avid hobbyist, Bruce took up other pursuits like model building, remote controlled cars, and fishing. Bruce’s greatest love was music, in particular rock and roll. He could spend hours playing one of his many guitars. He owned an amazing collection of albums – all alphabetized. Anytime one of “the greats” went on tour, Bruce was sure to attend, having gone to nearly one hundred concerts throughout his life. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents Drema and Weldon Peart. He is survived by his sister Donna (Jack) Knetter and cherished nephew and niece Dean and Ann Knetter. Bruce Peart is further survived by his extended family, residing everywhere from Milwaukee to Virginia. A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, April 10th from 3-6PM at Edgewater Golf Club, (1762 Cedar Creek Rd., Grafton, WI 53024) followed by a time of remembrance and sharing at 6PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials of your choice are appreciated.
