Bruce A. Cartwright

Bruce A. Cartwright of Cedarburg, Wisconsin passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the age of 74 at his home surrounded by his family. Originally from Kansas City, MO, Bruce served in the U.S. Army when his career was cut short by Type I Diabetes. He met the love of his life, Paula (nee Harris), at Metropolitan Junior College in Kansas City, MO and they married in 1971. He and Paula moved to Wisconsin in 1974 to pursue their educations, Bruce at Marquette University on the GI Bill. He majored in journalism and later studied photography at Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. The couple settled into life in Cedarburg in 1985 with their two children, James Nathan and Rachel Anne. Bruce had many freelance writing opportunities, including a grant from the Early American Industries Association for research into early tool making in the United States. He had an impressive collection of furniture making tools which he put to good use in furniture restoration. Bruce loved to talk about the many places he visited in the Far East during his Army career, especially the Philippines. His greatest accomplishment was raising his children and encouraging their accomplishments in the fields of clinical psychology and law.
