Brian M. Hanrahan Age 50 passed away on May 26, 2009 joining his father Daniel in Eternal Life. Funeral Services will be held Thursday May 28, 2009 at 6:30pm at the Cedarburg Funeral Home with visitation at the funeral home from 4:30pm until the time of service. Private interment. Memorials to the family appreciated. Survived by his mother Arlene and three beautiful daughters, the lights of his life, Sydney, Jordan and Payton. Also survived by one brother Connor and two sisters Sandra Provencher and Bonnie Lowell who rallied round Brian and provided his needs during his valiant 2 year struggle with cancer. Brian was born in Glendale, WI where he spent his early years the moving to Cedarburg in 1972. After graduating from Cedarburg High School in 1976 he joined the Cedarburg Fire Department and served his community for 9 years as a fire fighter, Emergency Medical Technician and was on the dive and rescue team. After marrying Kay Manders in 1986, they purchased a home a block away from the house where he spent his childhood; consequently, his girls attended the same schools that he had. Brian was in the home-building trade and owned his own home-remodeling business for several years. Brian instilled love of nature in his daughters. They accompanied him up-north and on other outings including duck hunting and fishing. He was an avid hunter but after losing several fingers from an accident, he was forced to give up bow-hunting, but continued deer hunting with his rifle. He enjoyed Trapshooting at the Ozaukee Fish and Game and Saukville S.C. earning the High Gun trophy. He loved all animals but especially wolves and dogs and gave his heart to several canine friends through the years but most recently Dakota. He rehabilitated a baby owl, Hooter and was happy when it was able to be released in the wild. He had a tenderness toward animals and always seemed to find a deer, rabbit or squirrel that needed to be fed by him.
