The following is a note written to Blaine from his daughter: In one of my classes, we were given this card to send to someone who has inspired us sometime in our life. My immediate thought was of you, my dad, for all the trials and hindrances you have overcome and continue to overcome to his day. I have seen what you’ve endured and yet you never fail to have a smile on your face. Your strength is what has given me strength, and is what will continue to give me strength for the rest of my life. Because of you, I’ve discovered that I can be greater than I ever dreamed I could be. You have shown me that our greatest triumph is not that we have never fallen, but that we can rise every time we do fall. You have put a new meaning to one of my favorite quotes: “Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. And today? Today is a gift. That’s why we call it the present.” And I’m so proud to call you my dad! Love, Katie Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 21, 6 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church N60 W6047 Columbia Rd.
