Betty Mae Pipkorn

Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 29, 2016 at 12:00 (Noon) at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 10729 W. Freistadt Rd., Mequon for Betty Mae Pipkorn (nee Uhlig) of Mequon died peacefully Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the age of 85 years at Columbia St. Mary’s-Ozaukee Campus. Interment church cemetery. Visitation at the church on Friday from 10:00am to 11:45am. Memorials to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church appreciated. Betty was born at home in Cedarburg on October 5, 1930, the daughter of the late Richard F. and Amanda (nee Klenk) Uhlig. She was the loving eldest of 7 siblings. In 1950 she was joined in marriage to her surviving husband, Harold Alvin Pipkorn. Their 64 year marriage was blessed with four children and one foster child, nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Betty was involved in Ozaukee County Homemakers and 4-H Clubs for over 25 years. She was an accomplished office manager, accountant, seamstress and baker, winning many prizes at the count and state fairs. She taught adult needlepoint classes at the Ozaukee extension university and worked for Sears as display coordinator till her retirement. At which point she went on to get her B.A. from Concordia University of Wisconsin. She was involved, documented and volunteered with the Milwaukee Folk Festival and the Alta Kameraden band of Freistadt, WI, touring with them and her husband in Europe. She will be greatly missed by her extended family and friends. Betty is eternally resting in the arms of the Lord. Betty is survived by her husband, Harold Alvin Pipkorn, 3 children; Wendy (Dennis) Bruss, SueAnn (Mark) Winner and John (JoAnn) Pipkorn, 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, loving extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Heidi, 1 sister and 1 brother.
