Born in Milwaukee on March 25, 1926, to Jerome and Lorraine (nee Burzynski) Wagner, Betty knew hard work meant rewards. She graduated from Bay View High School. Betty worked at Wisconsin Electric Co. Lakeside Power Plant until she met her soldier, Air Force Master Sergeant, Jerry Wagner. They were married in 1955. Their life together was always an adventure. When they finally settled down in Waukesha, Betty belonged to a group of Homemakers. This group of women became her lifelong friends. While in Waukesha, Betty and her family belonged to St. Josephs Catholic church in Waukesha. She was also a member of the Christian Womens Society. Betty and Jerry were always travelling, visiting friends and relatives near and far. They visited almost all 48 states in their lifetime. Photos always captured the memories they shared. Betty and Jerry then made their final move to the Grafton area. They were involved with the surrounding community projects and groups, including becoming members of St. Josephs Catholic Church. With health failing, Betty moved into Lasata Care Center with Jerry living nearby in Lasata Heights. Betty was always well cared for and enjoyed her friends that she had made while living there for the past 5 years. Betty considered the nurses and aides as her girls. Always reading, she would have two or three books she was reading at the same time, depending on her mood that day. Betty enjoyed playing bingo and working in the greenhouse and tending the outside gardens. The smell of the flowers and taste of the first fruits of the season were always a joy to Betty.
