August F.E. Hoffmann

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2011, 1PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church W61 N498 Washington St. in Cedarburg, for August F.E. Hoffmann who passed away at Dekorah Springs, in Saukville, at the age of 93 years. A visitation will be held on Thursday, prior to the Funeral Service, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, from 12 Noon until 1PM. The Rev. Kristine Ertl will officiate the Funeral Service. Interment will take place at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg. Memorials of your choice are appreciated. August was born on February 21, 1918, in Saukville, to the late August L. Hoffmann and the late Freida (nee Schellenberg) Hoffmann. He later married Alice Berger on December 13, 1958, at the Church of St. Jude in Wauwatosa. August was a lifelong resident in the town of Saukville, living on the family farm for all of his life. He farmed various crops throughout his years on the farm and also raised some steer and chickens. August enjoyed working on the farm, but he also enjoyed tinkering with old cars and various types of machinery. He worked as a carpenter on the Fromm Fox Farms building coops, and later worked as a mechanic for the Marquardt Bus Company where he retired at the age of 68. August is survived by his sisters-in-law, Estelle Oldenberg and Mary Ann Fillipiak, and brother-in-law, Jim Berger. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. August was preceded in death by his wife, Alice M.
