Ardis Cordts (Nee Estes)

A funeral service will be held on Friday February 2, 2008 6:00 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church (701 Washington Ave.), Grafton for Ardis Estes Cordts, 90, of Grafton who died on January 28, 2008 after a long illness. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church Fri. February 2, 4PM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society appreciated. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.muellerfuneralhome.com Ardis was born to parents Walter and Effa (nee Edwards) Estes on October 29, 1917 in Moore, Montana. After graduation from Moore High School in 1935, Ardis worked as a secretary in Great Falls, Montana, and San Francisco, California. It was in San Francisco that she joined the Army as a WAC, serving the US in the South Pacific during World War II. After military service, Ardis attended the University of Montana under the GI Bill, graduating in 1950. It was at the University that she met Howard Cordts, and they were married in Lewiston, Montana on August 28, 1950. Ardis had a passion for writing and spent many hours at her desk. She had many articles published and wrote a book about her son, Michael. Ardis also loved to sing and had an excellent voice. She sang in the choir for St. Paul Lutheran Church for over 35 years. Ardis was the beloved wife of Howard, and the loving, sweet mother of Shirley and will be especially missed and never forgotten by them. She is further survived by other relatives and many friends who will also remember and miss her. Ardis was preceded in death by her son, Michael, and her 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
