Anton “Tony” Nadler Of Grafton, December 4, age 87 yrs. Tony was born in Milwaukee, WI on December 19, 1926. Beloved husband of Arleen (nee Cain). Loving father of Jeffrey, Jody (Roger) Parchim and Tracy (Todd) Fitch. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Tony was preceded in death by his parents Anton and Suzanna (Strumberger), sister Catherine and brothers John and Frank. A World War II Army veteran, Tony served in the post-war Pacific, personally witnessing the ceding of the United States’ sovereignty of the Philippines on July 4, 1946 and the formation of the Republic of the Philippines. After being honorably discharged, he began his 30+ year career as a tool-and-die machinist at American Motors Corporation and Chrysler after its acquisition of AMC. On September 22, 1951, he married Arleen in Milwaukee. Shortly thereafter, Tony and Arleen purchased an acre of land along the Milwaukee River in the Township of Grafton and Tony almost singlehandedly built the family home without any previous construction experience. At the time of his death, Tony and Arleen still resided in the house he built sixty-two years earlier. Tony’s innate talent for coming up with and fabricating creative solutions, both at work and at home, gained him a reputation with co-workers, friends and family as the person to go to for advice and help when facing a puzzling problem. The common opinion was, “Tony can fix anything”. He was always a do-it-yourself man; in later years when health challenges and the effects of aging made it more difficult, Tony resented having anyone do something for him that he felt he should be able to do himself. Besides his family, Tony loved animals, especially the family dogs, and his retirement years were spent enjoying his home and yard, watching the birds that came to the dozen feeders he kept filled year-round. When he wasn’t outdoors, he enjoyed reading historic and biographic accounts of World War II, becoming a lay expert on most of that war’s events. At Tony’s request, private services were held.
