Ann E. Turney

Ann E. Turney found peace on Friday December 11, 2020 and now rests with her parents, husband and daughter. Ann was born on August 14, 1945 in Madison, Wisconsin to Chester and Geneva Hughes. She had a difficult start to life, spending her first 8 months in the hospital due to Spinal Meningitis. Most of her childhood was spent at the Mayo Clinic. Ann graduated from Memorial High School in Eau Claire, Wisconsin in 1962. She married Dale Turney in 1966 and together, they had one daughter, Jane. Ann was a long-time resident of Grafton, Wisconsin. She had a passion for music, animals, and people. This was evident through her membership in the Ozaukee Choir, and her volunteer work at the Ozaukee Humane Society, and Lasata Care Center. Outside of volunteer work, Ann enjoyed ushering at the Cedarburg PAC at Special Art Series, and also took pride in her years of service as a part-time election official. Ann was a dedicated parishioner at Grace Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir, and was involved in many church circles, always eager to help when asked. Ann was a complex person, who encountered a great deal of adversity and sadness in her life. She approached each day with a mindset of gratitude; for being alive, and tried in her own way to make a difference for others. A special thank you to Grace Lutheran Church for their care, concern and prayers. Ann appreciated the support and love her church provided her over the years, and saw her faith family at Grace Lutheran as a daily source of strength. To Ann’s McDonald’s Breakfast/Lunch Group; thank you for loving Ann, and for taking the time to know her smart, funny and caring character. A private service was held for Ann, and the burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Memorials may be made to the Ozaukee County Humane Society, Ozaukee Chorus or Grace Lutheran Church.
