Alvin L. Mueller of Montello, WI formerly of Cedarburg, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2013 at Tivoli Nursing Home in Portage, WI at the age of 87. Alvin was born in Cedarburg, WI on September 24, 1926 the son of the late Edward J. and Rose M. (nee Montag) Mueller. Alvin’s favorite pastime was Automobile Racing. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, Indy Car, Formula 1, and many other racing series. Alvin was a racecar driver himself back in the 40’s. He drove in the Sportsman’s class at Fireman’s Park in Cedarburg, Beaver Dam and Plymouth. In 1998 Alvin attended the Indianapolis 500 which was a very exciting day for him. Alvin also enjoyed art. He owned many paintings and prints and his favorites were of historic Cedarburg. Alvin is survived by his children: David (Jean), Fred (Michelle), Dale, Kathleen and Kay; siblings: Audrey Paul, Bernard Mueller and Beatrice Uebelher; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Alvin was preceded in death by three sons: Gary, Greg and Karl; and one sister Ethyl Mueller. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 – 10:00 AM at St. Francis Borgia South Catholic Church with Fr. Dale Gruba officiating. Interment will be in St. Francis Borgia Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM.
