Alois Al Eilbes, of Cedarburg, entered into eternal life on June 24, 2010, at the age of 92 years. A Memorial Mass will be held on July 5, 2010 6PM at St. Francis Borgia North Catholic Church in Cedarburg. Family will receive friends prior to the Memorial Mass on Monday, July 5, 2010, at the church, from 4-6PM. Inurnment will take place at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Cemetery. Al was born on July 4, 1917, in Leroy, Wisconsin, to Martin and Rosa (nee Schweda) Eilbes. He worked on the family farm, at Brownsville Cheese Factory, and drove truck until he was drafted in 1941. Al served his country during WWII in the United States Army with the highly decorated 32nd Red Arrow Division, in the South Pacific, on the front lines until two days before the war ended. Upon return, Al married his childhood sweetheart Kathryn Junk on October 27, 1945. Together they worked side by side, building 4 homes in West Bend and 7 homes in Cedarburg. After retiring from A.J. Freeman Builders at 62, he found himself in great demand for his many building skills, including master carpentry and formed his own company, Al Eilbes and Sons. He continued to work until the age of 88, at which time he retired to be home to care for his wife. Al is survived by his wife, Kathryn Eilbes of West Bend, children, Mary Therese (John) Johnson of West Bend, Allen (Mary Beth) Eilbes of Theresa, and Paul (Nancy) Eilbes of Cedarburg, grandchildren, Amy (Gary) Maurer, Randy (Tobie) Johnson, Michael, Andrew Matthew, Molly and Maggie Eilbes, great-grandchildren, Devan and Garrett Maurer, Dylan and Zoey Johnson, and Bailey Eilbes, and sister-in-law, Margaret Jung. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Al was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, and 2 brothers. Al will be greatly missed by family, friends, and others whose lives he touched with his gently and caring ways. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Charles Kaufman, Dr. Olafsson, and Dr. Arshad and his caring staff. They would also like to thank the 4th floor angels at the Samaritan Home in West Bend, for all of their care and compassion. Cemetery: St. Francis Borgia Cemetery Pioneer Rd.
