Al graduated from Port Washington High School in 1965. Al retired from Mercury Marine where he had worked first in Cedarburg and then in Fond du Lac for 37 years. He also worked in concessions at County Stadium and Miller Park for 48 years. Tom, Al’s brother who passed away this September, worked at the ballpark with Al for 46 years. For several years, Al and his wife Hope organized a Christmas party for fellow ballpark employees at Mo’s Irish Pub in Wauwatosa. In 1999 Al married Hope Holland at St. Peter’s UCC in Saukville. They enjoyed traveling and being with family and friends. They were able to see both the west and east coast areas as well as much of the southern part of the United States. A cruise in the Caribbean was a favorite memory. They also loved to travel to Michigan and Iowa to visit family. Family was very important to Allen. He loved and enjoyed Hope’s three sons and their families. His grandchildren and great grandchildren had a special place in his heart. Allen is survived by his wife Hope, three stepsons- Todd (Jamee) Holland of Sauvkville, Aaron (Deb) Holland of Sturgeon Bay, and Eric (Amy) Holland of the Town of Erin. He is further survived by 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren- Tony Holland of Saukville, Tera (Matt) Bienlein and their daughters Mariella and Quinn of Saukville, Emma Holland of Sturgeon Bay, Karise and Liam Holland of the Town of Erin; one brother Robert Mullins of Ypsilanti, MI and one sister-in-law Wanda Mullins of Lansing, MI; brother-in-law Arthur (Sally) Campbell of Port Washington; and six nieces, their families and other relatives and friends. Charlie, their cairn terrier, became Al’s constant companion and stayed next to Al during his last days. Al was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Mike, Gerry, Pat and Tom as well as two sister-in-laws Ruth and Carol. Allen was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grafton. Allen had many interests including a love of cars, jokes and country music. Old cars were top on his list. He took excellent care of his cars and always made sure his daughters-in-law had their cars in great shape. Working on his cars and attending car shows gave him great pleasure. Jokes were one of Al’s trademarks and he always had a joke to share. Just recently he commented that since he wasn’t at the ballpark, he was running out of new material. Country music was another interest. Al was fortunate to see many of his favorites perform.
