Allen J. Krueger

Allen Joseph Krueger, age 83, of Port Washington, was called to his eternal rest on Friday, March 14, 2008 at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg, WI. Allen was born in Grafton, Wisconsin on April 7, 1925 to Arnold and Leona (nee Bienlein) Krueger. While attending Grafton High School, Allen spent a great deal of time with his father who worked in auto mechanics at Wegner Hinz Company, a Chrysler/Plymouth dealership. This later became Allens primary career as well. Before his senior year of high school ended, Allen was drafted into the United States Navy during WWII. Much of his time was spent in the Pacific, the Mariana Islands and Japan on an LST 1025. After the war Allen met Ruth Jaeger while playing in the Cedarburg Civic Band. They were married on April 22, 1950 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Grafton. Allen and Ruth had six children from 1951 through 1963. In addition to his family he was a member of the Grafton Volunteer Fire Department, the Rose-Harms American Legion Post in Grafton, and the Port Washington City Band. Allen also enjoyed his fathers company in the Port City Band, and eventually that of two of his children and a grandchild. Later in his life, after the children were grown, Allen loved to travel with Ruth to all of their childrens homes, enjoying them and the grandchildren, attending birthday parties, concerts, sporting events, and being a fun-loving grandpa. Tailgating parties at "Milwaukee County Stadium" and attending Milwaukee Brewers games were event the entire family looked forward to. Allen also had a love for serving people and helped them in any way he could. Allen is survived by his wife, Ruth of 58 years, of Port Washington, and all six of his children: Cindy Kimball of Port Washington, Bonnie (Joseph) Knepper of Rice Lake, Bryan (Bridget) of Fredonia, Terry (Maria) of Berlin, Colleen (James) Leyva of Asheville, NC, and Michael of Denver, CO; 15 grandchildren: Trea and Sara Kimball, Rachel (Kimball) Krause, Jennifer (Kimball) Taucher, Matthew and Benjamin Knepper, Nicole (Krueger) Callahan, Katie (Krueger) Bauman, Jamie and Kimberly Krueger, Emma, Audrey, Garrett and Mitchell Krueger and Daniel and Phillip Leyva. Allen is also survived by 6 great-granchildren: Trevor and Megan Krause, Grant, Kaydence and Abigail Callahan and Kayleigh Bauman. He has two sisters Eileen Blumenberg and LaVerne (Harry) Frank and sister-in-laws Erna Stecker, Viola Maas, Eunice (Glenn) Frank, Darlene (Bob) Ladwig, brother-in-law harry Viesselmann and a host of other relatives and friends. Allens funeral service will be held on Monday March 17, 2008 5:00 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church Grafton  with visitation from 3 - 5 PM and his body will be placed in Gods earth on Tuesday March 18, 2008, St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery to await the Resurrection. When Jesus returns to this earth and raises up all the bodies of those who have died, He will raise up Allens body also and make it new and perfect and take him to live with Him in paradise forever. What comfort t is given to the believers in Jesus Christ.
