Alice Anna Lemke

A funeral servicewill be heldon Monday, November 24, 2008 7PM at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, West Mequon, for Alice Anna Lemke (nee Milbrath) who passed away on November 21, 2008 at the age of 93. Visitationwill beat the church from 5PM until the time of service. Interment church cemetery. Rev. Ken Kolberg will officiate the funeral service. Memorials of your choice appreciated. For online condolences please go to www.muellerfuneralhome.com. \r\n Alice was born on March 31, 1915, in Mequon, the daughter of the late Oscar and Carolina (nee Kirschmann) Milbrath. She was baptized at St. Johns Lutheran Church, East Mequon, and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, South Mequon, in 1929.\r\n Alice married Norman R. Lemke at Trinity Lutheran Church, South Mequon, on November 25, 1937, and they resided in Mequon all their married lives. They joined Trinity Lutheran Church, West Mequon, in the early 1940s, where Alice was a faithful and active member until the time of her death.\r\n During her child rearing years, Alice sold Avon for 12 years and did sewing and alterations for others until just recently, but she mostly devoted her life to her family and home.\r\n Alice is survived by her children Sandra (Hermie) Stern and Roger (Judi) Lemke; grandchildren Laurie (Ed) Doerner, Julie (Mark) Engelhardt, Robert (Tanya) Stern, Jennifer (Brad) Kronenberg) and Dale (Chelsa) Lemke; 21 great-grandchildren; sister Irene Laun; brother-in-law Elmer Helm; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by both her beloved husband Norman and granddaughter Christine Lemke (in 1996); sister Adeline Helm; brothers-in-law Edwin Laun, Richard Lemke and Arnold Hafemann; and sisters-in-law Dorothy Lemke and Evelyn Hafemann.
