Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, W61 N498 Washington Avenue, Cedarburg at 1:00pm for Wilmer J. Brandt, lifelong resident of Cedarburg, who passed away at Kathy Hospice on Monday, December 19, 2016 at the age of 86 years. Interment will be at Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg. Visitation will be Friday at the church from 10:00am to 12:45pm. Memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Ozaukee County 4-H Foundation are appreciated. Wilmer was born in Cedarburg on May 27, 1930, the son of the late Herbert and Eleanor (Nee Kuells) Brandt. He was born on the family farm and was a dairy farmer his whole life until his retirement in 1994. He married Joanne Tischendorf on October 14, 1961 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg and they were blessed with 3 daughters. After his retirement, Wilmer worked at the Recycling Center in the Town of Cedarburg for 10 years. Wilmer and Joanne bought a cabin on Shay Lake near Crivitz after his retirement where he loved spending time with his family, cutting the grass, and taking rides on the pontoon boat. Wilmer helped raise pigs for his family, friends and neighbors to show at the Ozaukee County Fair. He loved Polka music and feeding the birds. He was very active in 4-H and the Tri-County Pork Producers for many years. Wilmer is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joanne, daughters; Terry (Steve) Gall-Proefrock, Sheri (Jim) Hoerchner and Jackie (Steve) Bruss, grandchildren; Melissa (Jeremiah) Bradley, Andrew (Kaley) Gall, Lindsey Gall, Nick Gall, Jason (Lauren) Hoerchner, Marie (Jairus) Harper, Joel (fiancee’ Meg Anderson) Hoerchner and Ella Hoerchner, Nathan Bruss, Jacob Bruss, and Aaron Bruss and 4 step-grandchildren; Josh (Alisa) Proefrock, Jordan (Erica Kirklewski) Proefrock, Javan Proefrock and JoHanna Proefrock, great-granddaughters, Ryelynn Bradley, and Clara Proefrock, siblings; Lorraine (Russell) Pluedeman and Ronald (Marian) Brandt, brothers-in-law; Bob (Millie) Tischendorf, Al (Penny) Tischendorf and sisters-in-law; Lois (Ronnie) Reese and Hildegarde Brandt. Preceded in death by his son-in-law Jeff Gall, his brother Allen Brandt and brother-in-law Darel (the late JoAnn) Tischendorf.
