Wesley H. Merrifield, of Grafton, was called home to his Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at the age of 74 years. Wesley was born on November 26, 1944, in Reed City, Michigan, the son of the late James Merrifield and the late Jeanette (nee Haynes) Merrifield. At a young age, Wesley and his family relocated to the Brown Deer area. He attended school in the Brown Deer School District and later graduated from Granville High School. Upon his graduation, Wesley attended the Milwaukee Area Technical College for two years to become a tool & die maker. Wesley was united in marriage to Eileen Kassens, on July 3, 1965, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Grafton. Together their marriage was blessed with two children, David and Christine. Wesley was employed by Tecumseh, as a tool & die maker, where he was a faithful and dedicated employee for over 38 years. He then went on to work as a machinist for Snap-On for four years, until he fully retired in 2008. Wesley was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed deer-hunting, woodworking, golfing, and working with his hands. Although he enjoyed spending time outdoors, his true love was being there for his wife, children, and grandchildren. Spending time with his family was one of the greatest gifts he could ever receive. He was a man of great faith, and was a longtime active member at St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Grafton. Wesley is survived by his beloved wife, Eileen Merrifield, children, David Merrifield and Christine (Matthew) Fujinaka, grandchildren: Shane, Jakob, Michael, Macey, and Marek; and sister, Barbara (Butch) Multhauf. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Wesley was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Maleah, and siblings, Duane and Sandy. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, 6:00 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church (701 Washington St.), Grafton, with the Rev. Luke Anderson presiding. The family will receive friends and relatives, on Wednesday, at the church, from 4:00 PM until the time of service. Memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church or to the charity of your choice are appreciated.
