Wallace E. "Wally" Blank

Wallace E. “Wally” Blank, of Grafton, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at the Aurora Medical Center, in Grafton, at the age of 92 years. Wally was born on November 17, 1925, in Grafton, the son of the late Fred and the late Alma (nee Goetter) Blank. He attended Grafton High School and went on to work on the family farm in Grafton, where he raised crops and beef cattle. In May of 1946, Wally served his country in the United States Army until he was honorably discharged in April of 1947. Upon his return to Grafton, Wally was united in marriage to Janis Wendtlandt on October 1, 1947. Together they were blessed with four sons, Donald, Darrel, David, and Dale. Wally then maintained the family farm as well as working with his father at Blank’s Feed Mill, in Port Washington. He went on to work for the Grafton Co-Op, Power Products working as a machinist for 10 years, and the Grafton School System for many years. Wally is survived by his sons, Darrel (Shelley) Blank, David (Becky) Blank, and Dale Blank; daughter-in-law, Elsie Blank, brother-in-law, Roger (Judy) Wendtlandt, and sister-in-law, Diane Wendtlandt. He is further survived by 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Wally was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janis Blank, son, Donald Blank, great-grandson, Benjamin, and siblings, Elmer “Spitz” (Ruth) Blank, Fritz (Erna) Blank, his infant sister, Lorela Blank, Anita (Oscar) Junkans, and Lenore (Alois) Koehler. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018, from 4-6PM at the Mueller Funeral Home, in Grafton with a memorial service to be held at 6PM. The Rev. John Norquist will be officiating. Wally will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Janis, at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, in Grafton. Memorials of your choice are appreciated.
