Victor "Earl" Putzbach of Cedarburg passed away on April 11, 2017 at the age of 87. He was born June 2, 1929 in Wausau, Wisconsin, the son of Paul and Martha Putzbach. Earl served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953. He married Florence Holz on June 7, 1952. They enjoyed 64 years of marriage together. Earl worked for Grafton-Milwaukee Transportation Line for 25 years, and for West Bend Transit Company for 11 years until his retirement in 1991. He was a proud member of the Cedarburg America Legion Peter Wollner Post 288 for 63 years. He was a Past Commander, Service Officer, and a member of the Forty and Eight. One of Earl's favorite hobbies was flying his Piper Tripacer airplane out of the West Bend Airport. He also enjoyed relaxing with family at his lake cottage on Pickerel Lake near Antigo. Survivors include his wife Florence; daughters Linda (Tom) Cherrier of Appleton and Christine (Dan) Martens of Reedsburg. Proud grandfather of Kristin and Lauren Cherrier; and James, Justin, Matthew and Steven Martens. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Martha, and his sister Marian (the late Vernon) Johnson of Milwaukee. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Cedarburg Mueller Funeral Home, W63 N527 Hanover Ave., Cedarburg. Service at 12:00 p.m. (noon) followed by interment at Zur Ruhe Cemetery with military honors. Memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church West Mequon or charity of your choice appreciated.
