Vernon Guhl

Vernon Guhl of the Town of Jackson passed away peacefully on Saturday August 31, 2013 at Ivy Manor in Jackson at the age of 86 years. Vernon was born in Mequon, WI on October 14, 1926 to the late Adolph & Lillie (nee Meyer) Guhl and married Evelyn (nee Matter) on June 11, 1949 at David’s Star Ev. Lutheran Church in Jackson. Vernon was a long time active member at David’s Star Ev. Lutheran Church, he loved woodworking, gardening and playing sheepshead with Evelyn and their card club. He is survived by his wife Evelyn of the Town of Jackson, children; Elaine (Daniel) Schubert of West Bend, Dennis (Kathy) of West Bend, Walter (Carol) of Cedarburg, Roger (Jory) of Cedarburg, Alan (Karen) of Cedarburg and Shelley (Tom) Zimdars of Avondale, AZ, sister; Arlene Urban of Winston Salem, NC. He was preceded in death by his step-sister Norma Wessel. He is further survived by 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Sunday September 8, 3 PM at David’s Star Ev. Lutheran Church 2740 David’s Star Dr. Jackson. Interment church cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Sunday from 1 – 2:45 PM. Memorials to David’s Star Ev. Lutheran Church or Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School appreciated.
