Verna Jean Stevens

Verna Jean Stevens, of Cedarburg, passed away on March 28, 2014, at Lasata Care Center, at the age of 93 years. Verna was born on December 28, 1920, in Fortuna, North Dakota, the daughter of the late Thomas J. Moore and the late Eula L. (nee Cox) Moore. She was united in marriage to Eugene Stevens on July 15, 1949, in Plentywood, Montana. Eugene and Verna were active members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary for many years. Verna was employed by Globe Union for over 25 years, working as a punch press operator. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2014, 5:30 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Grafton, with Rev. Scott Kruse presiding. The family will receive friends on Thursday, at the church, from 4-5:30PM. A private inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorials to the charity of your choice are appreciated. Verna is survived by her beloved children, Kathryn Brown and Phillip (Dorothy) Monson. She is further survived by 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Verna was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Eugene Stevens.
