Stuart Richard Mitkey

Stuart Richard Mickey,OCUI2 Born to Eternal Life October 24, 2012, at the age of 25 years. Beloved son of Richard and Christine (nee Swatek) Mitkey. Loyal brother of Lena Christine Mitkey. Loving grandson of Bernice (the late Raymond) Mitkey and Phyllis (the late Ralph) Swatek. Further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and many friends. Stuart graduated from Saint Francis Borgia Grade School and Cedarburg High School. He earned a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and a Master’s in Civil Engineering from Purdue University. Stuart had been hired as an engineer by the Navy and was attending Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island at the time of his death. Driven and hard-working, Stuart enjoyed challenges. He was an excellent student and an avid sport and outdoor enthusiast. Stuart believed in the absolute value of truth and the permanence of friendship. Special thanks to all who touched and shaped Stuart’s life. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 2, 2012, at St. Francis Borgia North Catholic Church (1375 Covered Bridge Road, Cedarburg) at 4:00 P.M. In state at church on Friday from 1:00 P.M. until 3:45 P.M. Interment St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. Memorials to Mont Ripley Ski Patrol in Hancock, MI or Michigan Tech Rowing Club.
