Ruth Baehmann (nee Schultz) of Cedarburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 22nd, 2017 at the age of 104. Ruth Charlotte Schultz was born on October 16, 1913 to Clara and Fred Schultz in Milwaukee. The family worked a dairy farm in the town of Brookfield. In 1932 she met Edmund Baehmann at a polka dance in Mequon, and in 1934 they were married. In June of 1935 they welcomed their first child, Edmund Jr., also known as “Bud.” While Eddie worked in the factory at Grob Manufacturing, Ruth worked as a beautician. In July of 1944 the couple was blessed with a second child, Dale. As residents of Grafton, they decided to join St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in 1941. In 1949 they purchased a 55-acre plot of land just north of the city of Cedarburg, and in 1956 they built their first home. With a farm to take care of, Ruth transitioned from being a beautician to helping work the land. She spent many hours searching for the best recipes, and especially enjoyed making dumplings and potato pancakes. In 1960 the family took some of the land and built a driving range, followed by a miniature golf course and 9-hole Par 3 course to become Baehmann’s Golf Center. Over the years all members of the family have played a role in the business. Ruth had five grandchildren: Bud & Nancy’s children Keith, Linda and Kurt and Dale & Susan’s children Edan and Hai. She was also very proud to be a great-grandmother, to Edan’s son Ashton. Her husband, Eddie, preceded her in death in 2001. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 30th, 11am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 701 Washington St., Grafton. Family will receive friends at the church at 10am, with a luncheon following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials to the St. Paul Women’s Guild or St. Paul Church are appreciated.
