Russ Roberts

Russell “Russ” Roberts of Grafton, formerly of California passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the young age of 59. Russ was born in Bakersfield, CA on May 21, 1952 the son of the late Ralph and Nellie (nee Lewis) Roberts. He was united in marriage to Marilyn (nee Schroeter) on September 19, 1987 in San Ramon, CA. Russ earned his Master’s in Radiation Biophysics from the University of Kansas. After graduating from Kansas Russ started his own company manufacturing containers to dispose of hazardous waste for the Department of Energy. Eventually the Department of Energy hired Russ to work for them. Russ later went back out on his own doing consulting for numerous other companies. After moving to Grafton, Russ continued consulting and then semi-retired and began helping on the Schroeter family farm in Grafton. He enjoyed raising pigs, growing many vegetables, gardening, photography and “fixing things” that needed repair. He especially enjoyed his motorcycle, riding the back roads. Russ is survived by his wife Marilyn of Grafton; children: Tyler Roberts of UW Madison and Suzanne (Dustin) Beck of Grafton; brothers: Ralph (Lori) Roberts of Ontario, CA and Richard (Danielle) Roberts of Bakersfield, CA; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws: Ken (Margaret) Schroeter of Grafton, Joyce (Dave) Aiuppa of West Bend, Ronnie (the late Susie) Schroeter of Sheboygan Falls and Bob (Gina) Schroeter of Grafton. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 – 7:00 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Grafton.
