Ronald W. Sprink

On January 28, 2016 Ron was called by his Savior to his eternal resting place at the age of 74, due to a long battle with cardiovascular and kidney disease. He was able to fulfill his wish to die at home, surrounded by his family. We all will rest assured that he has arrived in the Kingdom of God, to watch over us all. Please join his family and friends to celebrate his wonderful life on February 5th with a visitation scheduled from 4-6 PM, with a memorial service to follow, both to be held at Mueller Funeral Home, W63 N527 Hanover Ave. in Cedarburg. Ron was born June 21, 1941 in Richfield, WI. and remained a lifelong resident of the Cedarburg/Grafton area raising a family and working. He clung to the strength he received from his adored wife, Janet, of 52 years, to the very end. They were married October 12, 1963 in River Falls, WI. In his final days, he reveled in pulling her close and saying,” she’s beautiful and she’s all mine”. He received great comfort over the last years during his declining health by having her by his side to care and watch over him. Ron graduated from Cedarburg High School in 1960 and began a career one week later that proved to be his single professional calling in life. Forty-five years later, he retired from that career of selling auto parts for Automotive & Aircraft Supply (Car Quest) in Cedarburg. He excelled at his profession by being a people person, always saving a joke or quick one liner for the appropriate moment and servicing his customers with great diligence. He made so many good friends as a result of his career and he never forgot those people. He was proud to be a world traveler in the prime of his career, winning sales contests that sent Janet and him on many fun vacations with those same friends and customers. Ron retired in 2005 to enjoy ten years of pursuing his other “careers”. He spent 15 years as the president of their condo association in Grafton, using those people skills to the utmost. It was also there that he showed off his passion for maintaining a perfectly manicured yard, spotless shine on his autos, and leaf-free environment in the fall. He took great pride in maintaining that image and often provided fun-loving humor for his neighbors while pursuing those passions. He enjoyed traveling on occasion to see his son’s family in Missouri and grandchildren in central Wisconsin. He also looked forward to his bi-weekly morning meeting at McDonalds with his coffee drinking group of peers. In his final days at home he amazed his family with the courage, bravery and strength he exhibited after making his decision to go on home hospice. He enjoyed an opportunity to see, visit with and say his goodbyes to so many of his dear friends and neighbors. Most importantly he was granted the incredible opportunity of group and individual time with his immediate family to remember, relive and say a personal goodbye. Ron is preceded in death, as an only son, by his father and mother, William and Irma (Kopp) Sprink, and a most dear aunt & uncle, Jesse and Mitzi Sprink. His profound spirit is survived by the sole love of his life, wife Janet (Huppert) as well as his only son, Tim (Natalie) Sprink and five grandchildren; Jared, Matthew, William, Allie and Tyler. Throughout life, he proved to be as wonderful of a husband, father and grandfather as he did a career salesman. His family would like to express a most heartfelt appreciation and Thank You to all of his caregivers in the Columbia St. Mary’s medical facilities. In particular, the special personal care he received from Dr. Kevin Goniu, Dr. Brian Nelson and wife Laurie. Without them the last few years would not have been possible for Ron to enjoy. Jan and Tim also need to express their heartfelt appreciation to Chris Johansen, who traveled from Denver Colorado to provide unimaginable spiritual support and loving care to the family during Ron’s last days. The family asks that in Ron’s memory and in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
