Roland J. "Rollie" Filter

FILTER, Roland J. "Rollie", of Grafton, formerly of Mequon, was called to his heavenly home on December 2, 2014, age 82 years. He will be remembered for his engaging laugh and hearty handshake. Rollie loved to sing and his Lord's Prayer solos made the wedding day of many couples more memorable. In his later years, he created, sold and gave away hundreds of stained glass crosses and enjoyed woodworking. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Marjorie (nee Schmidt), sister Elizabeth Leist, son Randy (Judy) Filter, daughters Nancy (Bob) Koschnitzke and Judith (Bob) Maxfield, and many other relatives and friends. Rollie cherished his grandchildren, Lisa Koschnitzke, Jim and Brian Maurer, and Bobby and Hannah Maxfield, and great-grandchildren Tate, Ethan, Colson and Aubrianna Maurer. He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Kristen Koschnitzke and brother, Oscar Filter. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Our Savior Ev. Lutheran Church (1332 Arrowhead Road, Grafton). Visitation will take place prior to the service from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Interment will be at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery in Mequon. In lieu of flowers, memorials of your choice are appreciated.
