Bob passed away peacefully at the Lawlis Family Hospice on Thursday, June 10, 2021 surrounded by his beloved family. Bob is survived by his wife Lisa (nee Wendtland) of Cedarburg, children: Robin (Jay) Jozwiak of Antioch, IL and Marc (Courtney) Swanson of Lake Villa, IL, grandchildren: Jessica Jozwiak, Jordan Swanson, Lainey (Joe) Hutchcraft, Ty Swanson, Tea Swanson, great-grandchildren: Rowan & Jett Hutchcraft and Paisley and Arabella Swanson, brother: Gary Swanson of Lynwood, IL., mother-in-law Janet Wendtland of Cedarburg, sister-in-law: Pamela Alarcon of Menomonee Falls, nieces: Samantha Patterson, Libby Schwalbach and Bridget Schwalbach, nephew: Alex Swanson, great-niece: Caylee Brown. Bob was born in Chicago, IL on September 26, 1939 to the late Arthur & Mary Lois (nee Steiner) Swanson where he grew up on the South side with his brother who shared adventures of living in a working class neighborhood. Bob graduated from Bowen High School in 1957 and went into the Army and served as a combat medic. Upon his return, he spent some time working in the heat of the steel mills. He then moved on to work in the heart of Chicago on Rush Street where he spent the 60’s and 70’s running clubs and meeting some of the celebrities of the day as Redd Foxx, Tom Jones, Frank Sinatra, Richard Pryor and Ike and Tina Turner to name a few. He was blessed with his daughter Robin, who he adored and treated to some of the finer things in life which is a passion she now shares with her family! His son Marc born a few years later was his pride and joy and shared Bob’s passion for sports especially the Chicago Bears and Chicago Bulls! Bob’s career then took him into automobile sales where he met some of his best friends to this day through various dealerships that he had worked at throughout the greater Chicago market. In 1999 he married the love of his life Lisa in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. They shared a great marriage and partnership and understood each other’s sense of humor! They enjoyed their home in Round Lake Beach, IL where they had great neighbors and friends. After Bob retired, they moved to Cedarburg where they now reside. However, Bob was very clear that even though he moved to Wisconsin, he would always be the ultimate sports fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Bulls, Chicago White Sox and Chicago Blackhawks! Whether he would attend a game, buy memorabilia or simply cheer from home by watching on his big screen TV with a big bowl of buttered popcorn!! Chicago sports teams were and always would be #1 in his eyes! Bob’s love and loyalty toward his family and friends will forever resonate in the hearts of those lives he touched with his warmth and sense of humor. You will be missed greatly by all!!
